Week 5

Last week, our team reviewed the videos and determined them we will use for this project in the studio class. Also, our client joined the meeting to discuss the content.

We got all the content from our client last Saturday. She gave us the specific content according to the instructional goals. The content is a lot and each of us spends much time to review the content in detail and think of how we will present each section for tomorrow meeting. We will brainstorm and develop concrete ideas on each section for the project design in the tomorrow meeting.

Trudi, our project manager, assigned different sections for the next stage documentations to each of us. I need to focus on hardware/software specifications for the system. Trudi also created three initial drafts of the main screen design. I think the drafts are really useful for brainstorming concrete ideas on the design in the tomorrow meeting. Our project manager, a very organized person, is working diligently for our project. We start with the design for the system! That’s exciting!

4 week

Last week our team worked on a task analysis for our project. We analyzed several tasks to achieve each instructional goal. In the meeting, we thought we were done with the task analysis. But, we didn't think performance objectives and we met on Sunday to finalize our task analysis including performance objectives. We also added some tasks.Through collaboration with all members, we got the finalized task analysis. I think our team meeting is always productive and efficient. Every team member shared her opinion with other team members. By sharing the opinions, we got better ideas on our project. I really enjoy with working with our team.

We're working on design for our project and waiting for the whole content from our client. We review other creative website to gain good ideas about our project design. Trudi gave us some links and I visited the websits to review the designs.

The tasks for next week:
1. Develop time line
2. Retrieve the full text content
3. Complete analysis of text content
4. Complete analysis of video content
5. Develop storyboard of the flow of content/site
6. Assign tasks to 6200 consultants
7. Begin initial phase of screen design

Week3

We met our client in the studio class last Thursday to discuss content. Dr.Powell provided us with many resources including content overview and Russian camp introduction video. Our team and client were very excited with our project while brainstorming content and design.

After meeting with our client, our team created a questionnaire to conduct a survey related to Russian camp to students who take study abroad classes. The purpose of the survey is to identify target audience’s needs, a gap between desired performance and current one. After conducting the survey in the class, we analyzed results. From the results, we identified instructional objectives. We divided our roles to create Needs Assessment. My part is results and recommendation. We’ll get a signoff from our client before tomorrow studio class.

According to our course schedule, we will create task analysis for our project and finalize our analysis phase. We will also start with the design phase. I’m looking forward to doing next step!

Week 2

Last week we had our second meeting. Our team finalized 6200 consultants and let them know their roles for our project. My team posted brief project descriptions including project overview, target audience, and objectives based on information our client provided on our project management site. Trudy made a specific time plan to complete Needs Assessment by next Wednesday.

I created my personal 6210 blog and linked it to our team PM blog. Also, I linked each team member’s blog to the PM site. I reviewed some content on a current website to think questions to ask target audience about their needs.

Our team is doing fine. We will analyze entire content, determine instructional goals, perform needs assessment, and begin brainstorming for the design approach in the next week.
