Desk crit for Hollingsworth

I like that each lesson has an appropriate assessment to review and reflect what the user learn. Also, blog might be a useful tool to allow the learners to reflect what they learn. Your website follows a good approach in term of learning design and assessment. In addition, this website is easy to navigate.
For design of website, it might be better if you added more images and color.
Also, for beginners who first use blog, it would be better if you included some instruction on how to use blog.
Great job!!

Hi, Sabrina.
Your project is practical. It might be useful for beginners who want to learn how to sew. It is well-organized and easy to navigate. Also, it provides the users with basic knowledge and authentic experiences in sewing.
You need to include a section for reference of your project on the website.
For the page “the online fabric store”,
When clicking the links, it would be better to open up in a new window. So, the users will be able to just close it and go back to your website, without using the browser back button.
For the page below, text on the photo is hard to read because it is small and its color is not good. It would be better to increase font size and change font color.

Week 13
I saw many project other studio folks have developed. Most of them are great. I'm really impressived with thier projects.
We met online Sunday to discuss what we will do. We assigned tasks to each member and my assigned task is to develop video/photo gallery HTML template.
I finished editing a video for the culture shock section of our online module last Friday. Also, I am working on the screen design of the gallery and video section of our module. Trudian gave me her idea about the design.

Week 12
Trudian assigned each part to each team member for our team presentation at the dress rehearsal. My part is to show and explain screen designs and some interaction of the module. We had a meeting tonight to prepare for tomorrow presentation. Each team member explained her part and we shared opinions about each part. I’m nervous about the presentation. I wonder what kinds of feedback we get from other folks in the studio. We will be able to improve our module from their various feedback.
After the dress rehearsal, we plan to:
- Figure out how to allow everyone else on the team access to the remote server
- Complete the remaining 4 (or 3) sections
- Make revisions (based on feedback) to lessons 1-3
- Begin and finalize the photo and video galleries
- Create transcripts for all the remaining videos
- Conduct evaluations
- Complete remaining documentation
Week 11
This week I worked on video editing with Sunny by using Final Cut. Also, I revised the animation according to Trudian’s feedback.
I attend the AECT conference in Orlando. It’s my first experience of attendance of conference. So, I am really exciting. I plan to attend several sessions related to online learning.
I’ll continue animation production and video editing.

Week 10
Our team had a meeting last Thursday to discuss the layout of content and animations for the module. I created some animation and got feedback from our team members. Since we work individually, there is an issue about cohesive format of the module. As a team, we need a constant layout of the module. We exchange each opinion for the cohesive layout and style after creating some material. I continue to work on animations and will start video editing. For dress rehearsal, our team need to speed up with the project.
In the next week we plan to:1. Wrap-up animation development2. Finish content layout3. Continue video editing4. Begin creating transcripts for some of the completed videos5. Input completed animations and videos in HTML pages6. Upload HTML pages to russia.uga server7. Upload completed videos to UGA streaming server8. Get ready for dress rehearsal

Desk crit for Audrea's project
Creator:Bankston, Audrea
URL: http://abanksto.myweb.uga.edu/edit6200/
Hi Audrea,
I saw your project’s documentation including abstract, goals, learner’s analysis, and prototype. I think your project is meaningful and practical. I like pre-test and post-test of your project. Through two tests, learners will be able to see their improvements after completing the module. I also like the help function. The function will provide useful information whenever learners have difficulty understanding the module’s buttons and navigating the module.
I have a few comments for you.
In terms of navigation of the module, I think if there is a constant menu on all the pages, it would help users to navigate the module easily.
You need to include a section for reference of your project on the module.
If you add a sitemap on the module, it would allow learners to access to each page what they want easily and quickly.
I hope that helps and I’m looking forward to seeing your project in the dress rehearsal.

Hi, Jungrok. I like your idea about your 6190 project. Puzzle for children is really interesting and attractive. While listening to your thoughts and motivation on your project, I felt your love for your baby.
As we talked about the project, you need to be familiar with action script. To develop the puzzle game, you should learn drag and drop function. You can find good resources through Google search.
Visit the sites below. These websites are useful to learn skills of drag and drop.

Week 9
I’m working on flash animations. While developing them, I realized some storyboard is needed to change. I’ll also start with video editing next week. Our team will continue to work on the development of the module to complete the following tasks:
· Continue animation development
· Finalize content flow
· Begin development on the actual server
· Begin creation of new videos
· Utilize consultants
I also need to prepare for comprehensive exam next week.

Week 8
I reviewed a list of the questions for comprehensive exam Dr. Clinton provided. I will decide an article about multimedia development for preparation of the exam by this weekend. I think this exam will allow me to review what I have learned and gain insight on various aspects of instructional technology.

Week 7
After completing the assigned sections, we had another meeting on Horizon Wimba to collect the sections and exchange each team member’s opinions on each section this Sunday. Each team member showed the assigned sections and revised them according to other members’ feedback. Also, we reviewed the design documentation including learner profile, hardware/software specification, treatment rationale, and screen design.
Trudian collected all the revised documentations and put them in the proper format. She submitted them to our client to get sign-off today.
We will work on creating flow charts and storyboards. Also, I will start with preparation to comprehensive exams.

Week 6
This week I work my assigned section, Hardware/Software. I reviewed the previous teams’ documentations to create the section. In addition, I tutored Jungrok as her studio mentor for 1 hour.
Our team will finalize the evaluation plan and other documentations next week.

Week 5
Last week, our team reviewed the videos and determined them we will use for this project in the studio class. Also, our client joined the meeting to discuss the content.
We got all the content from our client last Saturday. She gave us the specific content according to the instructional goals. The content is a lot and each of us spends much time to review the content in detail and think of how we will present each section for tomorrow meeting. We will brainstorm and develop concrete ideas on each section for the project design in the tomorrow meeting.
Trudi, our project manager, assigned different sections for the next stage documentations to each of us. I need to focus on hardware/software specifications for the system. Trudi also created three initial drafts of the main screen design. I think the drafts are really useful for brainstorming concrete ideas on the design in the tomorrow meeting. Our project manager, a very organized person, is working diligently for our project. We start with the design for the system! That’s exciting!

Week3
After meeting with our client, our team created a questionnaire to conduct a survey related to Russian camp to students who take study abroad classes. The purpose of the survey is to identify target audience’s needs, a gap between desired performance and current one. After conducting the survey in the class, we analyzed results. From the results, we identified instructional objectives. We divided our roles to create Needs Assessment. My part is results and recommendation. We’ll get a signoff from our client before tomorrow studio class.
According to our course schedule, we will create task analysis for our project and finalize our analysis phase. We will also start with the design phase. I’m looking forward to doing next step!

Week 2
I created my personal 6210 blog and linked it to our team PM blog. Also, I linked each team member’s blog to the PM site. I reviewed some content on a current website to think questions to ask target audience about their needs.
Our team is doing fine. We will analyze entire content, determine instructional goals, perform needs assessment, and begin brainstorming for the design approach in the next week.

Week 1
We formed two 6210 teams in the previous class. I joined Team Global solutions whose client is Dr. Powell. The project is for Camp Counselors Russia Program. Trudy, our team project manager, assigned a role for each team member and my role for our team is a programmer. Sunny is the evaluator and Ali is the instructional designer. Every team member is happy with her role. Trudy and Sunny met with Dr. Powell yesterday to discuss the overview for our project. Dr. Powell gave us brief information about project goals, target audience, learner outcomes, available resources, and content. I think she is an excellent client especially in communication. I set up our project management site using Blogger for putting up all our documentation. It’s my first time using Blogger and learning how to use it. Tonight we’re going to meet online to discuss our project description, finalize 6200 consultant job descriptions, determine team protocols, and discuss general timelines and our project management site.
Things to do in the next week:
a. Analysis
b. 6210 Class requirements
c. Updating the blog
d. Overall Instructional goals and design ideas
